Hello.  The weekend was uneventful.  By now you should know that I am a boring person.  {Well, I guess it really depends on the people that are involved... with the right people mix, I can be very interesting. ;)  }  I enjoy staying at home and spend time with Gigi and read or watch DVD or playing on the computer.

My favorite pairs of sandals are my Birkenstock.  I have 2 pairs of sandals and both are Birky.  I love them.  They are not the "prettiest", but they are comfy and I had them for many years.  I am a sentimental person, or you can say I am a hoarder (?!) and I like to keep my things.  Anyway.  They are great shoes.  And I am not a huge "shoe person" anyway.  I am a boring dresser.  I like my tee and jeans.

Good morning!  My hands are in pain today... they are not happy.  I have been using booda butter for the past couple days, it seems to work a little.  But I guess when your hand in really bad shape, there is no quick fix.  I do try to stay with using only natural products.

Franken

I am not a huge DIY person, but I like to make my lip balms and my salves.  I made enough for myself, then I get bored of making them or just lazy.  I do like making them from time to time, but I don't super enjoy having to source them and spend all the money for the supplies... well... I do, but I don't.  Ha.  I am interested in making a few franken for myself.  I know the elements I like for my "perfect" nail polish.  But I don't want to buy a bizillion supplies etc.  (My life is full of contradiction.  LOL.)  Anyway, I did bought a small supply and made a franken last night.

Rally 20130528

Rally was fun last night.  We practiced halt with foot work.  Left about turn etc.  It was fun and challenging at the same time.  Foot work is not as easy as one would have thought.  It requires lots of coordination for your whole body.  We had a good laugh (at each other).  Gigi had fun and that's what's important.

Nail stuff

I think I am at the point of saturation of nail polish.  Is that a crazy thing to say?  I go in phases of my "interests".  I do enjoy my current interest in nail polish.  I am estimating I have around 300 bottles?  I have given away many bottles, but I have also bought many new ones.  LOL.  I should really purge my stash again... for my mental/physical healthy, for my wallet (hello blog sale) and for my cute office ...  I want to streamline what I want to keep, what I am willing to let go and what I want to buy.  I already know I love holographic polish, also love duo/multichromes... glitters are ok, but I hate removing them... so many kinds to think about and to go through. :D  This post is kind of pointless, but it will serve as a reminder for me to organize them!  Go me.  Baby step.

But I think for me right now is to make my nails healthy.  My cuticles are not in great shape.  I guess having skin issue does not help.  Whenever my eczema act up, my cuticles suffers too.  I don't particularly fancy long long nails, so trimmed and tidy and healthy nails is my goal.

Green Awakening and The Youth

I have been lacking in my quiet time and I am feeling the effect. :(  And I have got all these cuts on me, because I have been scratching and now that my nails are in the square shape, they are quite sharp... I think that's why I got all the slashes.  Oh well.  Yay to healing balm.  I need to buy some raw ingredients in the near future, so I can make them again.  I have about 5 tins left... and I can always just buy the ready made ones.  But I like to make them myself sometimes.

Mowed my lawn again today in my work clothes and shoes after work.  When I have the momentum, I'd like to do it right away before it fades... and the mower cooperated... that I am grateful.

On other news, I bought a few Wicked Polish today.  I wasn't planning to, but the timing was right and I got what I was interested in.  Though I still want to go through my stash and sell some of them.

Rally and other stuff

Rally was fun last night, we arrived a bit early and watched a bit of the earlier "puppy" class.  Everyone there were friends.  We all know each other other.  Dog training can be a small world indeed. :)  Gigi saw her godmother and was so happy to see her.  Saw M and Salis and P and her new puppy.  Gigi got lots of attention and she loved it.  It is all about her, right?  And there are only me and another student for our class.  We practiced stand, side step and left about turn.  Gigi did very good (again considering we don't practice) and had lots of fun.  D mentioned Gigi is in very good shape (health-wise)

Nail sticker decals

I finished my 20 books I have set for myself with goodreads.  Yay.  I am so proud to have reading as my hobby.  I have love reading since I was a kid.  I love mystery, (some) thriller, fantasy (HP etc) and (some) romance etc.  I am willing to try anything.  And with Kindle, it makes getting books so much easier.  Amazon has lots of free Kindle books too, so there is always something to read.  I also buy other books on top of the free ones.  I seriously love my Kindle. :D  Nerd much?  Anyway, I am not going to stop reading.  If you have a smart phone, you can still download the Kindle app and enjoy all the books.  Though I wish I can buy Chinese books on Kindle.  On top of being able to get free books on my Kindle, I also like not having to store the paper book and that I can carry tons of book in 1 device.  Also I like no one need to know what I am reading (though one person actually asked what I was reading long time ago.).  Kindle is a good investment IMO.

Helloooooo Monday

Our weekend was busy and productive. Hope yours was just as good.  The weather was getting warm, so glad I bought an extra fan for our facing-west living room.  It gets real warm in the evening when the sun sets.  But Gigi loves it.  She doesn't care that it's too warm and that the sun is blinding her eyes, she would happily sits in the sun spot and soak it all up, sometimes even burrow in her blankies.  What?!

It's a lovely holo made with spectraflair.  I love it.  It's lilac (?) and the holo is very prominent.  And application is a breeze, no special base coat is necessary.

Gigi the cute

My cute girlie.  Took it yesterday, she looks huge in the pic.  But she is just a itty bitty dachshund.  LOL. You can see the shaved arm (her right front leg)... they have to put a catheter in her for her shot (allergic history).  Poor baby. But she is always a good sport.  Took her for her nails trim and gland expressed on Sunday too.  So she is healthy and well trimmed now. ;)  I am so shocked that a looooooot of people are wondering if she is a pure dachshund.  Why?  She IS a pure dachshund, with AKC paper and everything.  I think people got confused with her long legs and that she is skinny.  But hey, I can't help it if she has a body of a model. ;)  Love her no matter what. :D

Gigi and Doctor Who nails

Just dropped my little girl at the vet for her comprehensive check up.  She weighed 9.7 lbs. :)  She is finally over 9 lbs!!!  If you have read my old posts, we have had a rough patch with her health and weight and she was improving after I have switched her food... and now she is at a good weight!  You can't see her spine much any more and she still has a waist.  She feel solid when I carry her.  And as always, she has a good appetite.  Love her so much.  The house is too quiet when she is not around. :(  Can't wait to pick her up.

I am not too familiar with American (or just English in general) pop songs... old or new (heck, I am also out of date with Can-pop too.  So sad).  So I heard this song twice (I think) on the radio.  I find it kind of catchy and I like it.  But I have no idea who the singer is and no idea of the title or anything.  Do you know how hard it is to find it.  It was driving me crazy, literally.  But I just found it!  Yay!

Happy Tuesday to you all.  Time has been going fairly quickly.  So much to do, so little time.  It's easy to get overwhelmed and go to the negative mode.  Which is a meh.  So let's start the day with a positive note and let in the gold and say bye bye to the yuck.

Life

Sometimes people will say/do stuff that are  (un)intentionally unpleasant.  It could be just an honest mistake.  It could be their goal to hurt you.  Or whatever.  I am still struggling with this on a regular basis.  Whatever their intentions are.  I am learning to let it go, rather than lash out or fight back.  There ARE times that one should fight back.  But if doing so is not doing me any good but with a few seconds of satisfaction, I will let it go.  It's after all ONLY about my joy and peace of mind.

I did my mani last nite using Tiffanytea.  It's gorgeous.  Teal and holo, what more can one ask for. :)

The condition of my hands are still not great.  I am feeling better, but it's still not the best.  My cuticles are big mehs.  And my nails are short, I am trying to keep them in square-ish shape... that's the goal anyway.  Well, onto the pics.

New to me indie brand

One of my favorite finish in nail polish is holo!  So it was a pleasant surprise when I found Aly's Dream Polish accidentally. 

Kelvin Bleu and Hematoma

I saw this amazing combo (Wicked Polish Hematoma topped with Polished by KPT Kelvin Bleu) from Lacquerloon and really wanted to try it on my own.  I was lucky to finally acquire both polishes.  However, it does not give me the same effect as others.  They were never cold enough to turn to darker blue.  Probably if my nails are way longer then it would happen.  But oh well, I tried.

Chirality Quarks

Both my hands are not with full fledged eczema.  Yea, it comes whenever it feels like and makes me so mad and sad.  Makes my hands stiff and in pain and itchy.  But that won't stop me from doing my nails completely.  I may do it less often.  Anyway, here is what was on my nails.

Sorry, no new mani.  Stupid polish keep chipping.  I dislike it when my polish chip.  When it chips, I have to remove it.  And lately my polish does not last more than 24 hours.  Boo.  I think my nails are oily too, so that's why they chip more easily than others?

Gigi loves me

Doggies are great, because they have their own personalities and their unique quirkiness.  Yesterday I came home after work.  And the roommate told me Gigi is really different when I am not around.  Even when she is home, Gigi is not as happy.  She just went to sleep in her crate and ignoring roommate.  That really makes me happy that Gigi wants ME and that I am her human.  I know this is nothing to a lot of people, but to me, it means a lot that Gigi loves me.

The latest episode of Doctor Who was just released and to celebrate, I did a little blue nails. ;)

Happy Easter.  The weather is gorgeous.  The Lord is risen.  All is well.

Easy nails

I am not a big nail art fan (on me).  Mostly because I don't have those artistic fibers in me.  My kind of nail art is to put some stickers on my nails.  ha.  And I also don't like to use 1 plain straight color if possible... I prefer the one color to have some fun in it... like duochrome, holo etc.  I am also trying to avoid glitters, since they are hard to remove. ;)  Too much?  And for today's nails, I picked Zoya Aurora.  I have wear this before, but I like it's holo, so it's not 1 straight color.  And application is easy, so I am using it again.

Jupiter Aurora

I am sort of back now.  We moved 2 weeks ago.  The last time I moved was 10+ years ago, so it was not something I say is familiar.  And I can't believe how much stuff I have.  Arg.  All the packing, sorting etc etc etc took a real toll on me.  But I can now say I am "mostly" settled in.  Gigi seems to enjoy the extra space she is getting. :)  All is well.  So instead of typing lots of words etc, I will try to do mostly pics with some descriptions.

Life and all

So much has happened.  All I want to say is I am extremely thankful in many ways.

We just moved and I think we are all adjusting.  Gigi is handling it ok, IMO.  My nails have taken a HUGE toll on all the packing and unpacking.  They break/crack like crazy.  I am so mad and sad at the same time.

Using a mover is also a very smart move IMO. Money well spent.  I do think you have to choose wisely.  Recommendation from friends would be great.

Dachshund and mustache

I love both!  Very obvious for the first.  As for mustache, I just think it's cute, not sure if it's actual mustache on a person though. ;)  As you can also tell I sell both shapes in my Storenvy shop.  I do love them.

Wardrobe Malfunction

I admit I have no fashion sense.  I am a t-shirt and jeans kinda girl.

Gray's Anatomy again

All of my nail polish are in a new location (we are moving), so I have no supply at all, except top and base coats (why I haven't move them yet, I don't know)... and I really wanted to paint my nails.  I haven't paint them for a few days, because my nails are all wonky (trying to shape my nails square, but the corner keep breaking and also other split/break on my nails in general, so I end up having to cut my nails down and now it's a "natural" shape)... so I want to heal them first.  Anyway, I couldn't take it any more (ha) and I went and bought a bottle of Wet n Wild Gray's Anatomy.  I already own this and also own the big sister, Deborah Lippmann Wicked Game.  I like them both, but GA is only $1.99!  So I bought it happily and also a bottle of Nail Tek II to see if it can help my nails.  I bought a bottle of Nail Magic right before this and it peeled off from my nail the very next day after I applied it, it's so weird.

I want to give Kelvin Bleu another go.  It's a beautiful thermal top coat.  This time I paired it with Sinful Color Candy Coated.

Textured Nail Polish

I found some textured polish from Milani.  I was so excited.  I got Shady Gray and Purple Streak.  I have some bald spots with the first coat, but it's all ok with the second coat.  The texture is funny... I keep thinking cement.  And removal is not difficult!

Agility 20130302

It's agility Saturday.  It's fun.  It was a mirror image from last week.  Gigi did pretty great.  Not as perfect as last week, but it was fun.  Then trainer ran with her too.  It was so funny, because Gigi keep running back to me.  She is so silly.  I love my cutie Gigi.

NOTD

If you have seen my last post regarding Marta from Chit Chat Nails using our decals, you know they are awesome.  I love her manicures... that she very often use more than just one color and nail art design on her nails.  I decided last night was the night to try to replicate.

Thankful-20130228

So I am still stressed... BUT I am so thankful for so many people and things.  It reminds me being thankful and count your blessings are powerful tools to switch your mood.  No matter how gloomy things look, there is always at least a tiny spark of goodness in there.  Be deliberate about looking for it and appreciating it and let its glow magnify!  Once the good feeling is there, let it expands!  Let the positive feeling snowball. Like attracts like, so let it do its thing!

All is well.  That's the pep talk for the day. Let's all encourage each other and live in joy and hope.

Another "untried".  I haven't use Dragon by A England on a full manicure, so here is a gorgeous green holo.  Application was a breeze.  I used 2 coats here and Essie Good to Go.

Duh

There are things going on in my life right now that is stressing me out a bit.  I have every intention to stay positive.  It's my personal mission to be in joy.  {That's another long and "interesting" story there.}  But there are still down times occasionally. 

I have been so "out of my mind" that I have left my phone at home TWICE within 5 days!  Saturday and Today.  Gah.

I am feeling slightly "naked" without my phone right now.  haha.  But now I think of it, I don't really use my phone that much.  Well, I use it for non-phone purpose a lot more:  instagram, IM and browsing etc.  And think back 20 years ago (or maybe more) we are all fine and dandy without a cellphone.  So I will be fine... but just the fact that I forgot twice within such a short period of time does not sit well with me.  I also only had 3 hours of sleep last night.  Bah.

Rally-20130212

Last night was rally.  We only practiced 3 things:  distant sit, side step and moving sit.  All 3 are easy, but then not so much.  ha. If you know Gigi, she is FAMOUS for her "fake" sit.  She is so low on the ground, sometimes it's hard to see if she is sitting.  She does not like non-carpeted flooring, so she will hover above the ground.  It's between a sit and a squat!  Trainer has been going easy on her, since little missy is almost 10 years old, so as long as her hock is touching the ground and it's "almost" touch the ground, we let it go.  LOL.  It was fun, especially when we have to decided whether it's a sit, or a stand or nothing.  LOL. But I look at this as building relationship with my girlie.  As long as we had fun, we are good.  I don't think we are going to enter any rally trials.  Heck, we haven't enter any agility trial as well.  The last one was in 2009, I think.

It is an amazing teal holographic nail polish.  I have 2 coats.
This polish is easy to apply.  Though the brush was a bit stiff at the beginning, but it fanned out nicely after a few fingers.

Did I fool you?  I don't have a new manicure.  It is still Magical Mystery Tour.  It's such an amazing color.  I was driving home and there was still some light out, not sunny, but light.  And when I look at my nails at red lights, it shifts to all these amazing shades... remind me of a peacock.  I love it.

February is my month.  2 is my favorite number and this is my birthday month.  What is not to love an even number?  Mr. Monk would love this number 2.  Anyway, I saw some nice swatches on Lynnderella Love Light... and I have to have it.  I am staying away from glitter lately, and flakies are great.  And it's a romantic color, so I ordered it on 1/29/13 and received it 2/2.  I like it alot.  So this is my first valentine manicure this month. ;)  But I definitely think you can wear it any time.

My new addition:  OPI A Butterfly Moment.  Such an elegant pearly pink color.  I used 2 coats.  Sometimes it feels too elegant and feminine for me.  Haha.  I added A-England Dragon on ring finger.  On left middle, I added Revlon Heavenly.  On right middle, I added Lynnderella Snow Angel.  I used Gelous over the glitter and 2 coats of Wicked Fast on everyone.

Agility 20130119

Agility today.  But I didn't have any videos.  It was freezing cold, but we made it.  2 course.  One is 20 obstacles and the other is a mini one with 9 obstacles.  It was fun.  She definitely is running slower.  I knew she can run fast... I am not sure it's the weather?  Her age?  I was running slow?  But she was having fun and I think I made the right decision of lowering it to 4 inches.  Her very first run was highly distracted... sniffing the ground, but I got her attention and she was doing great since then.  Can I say I adore her? :)  I am the luckiest person in the world to have found her.  We are both lucky to have found each other. :D

PS:  She accidentally jumped a 12-inch jump.  Sigh.

Dachshund vinyl nail sticker decals will be available in my shop very soon, so I thought I would share "officially" how to apply them.  They are very easy.  Unlike water decal, you don't need water and they last on your nails longer.

A England Princess Sabra - Tristam's Eyes. Gorgeous deep golden taupe holographic nail polish.  It's lovely.  Pretty holographic polish makes me happy.  I added a dachshund nail sticker decal.  And I added a coat of Connect the Dots on my accent nail. :)  That's 3 coats of Princess Sabra.

Hits Cutie Pie

Yesterday I was spotting "le nude" by Gigi Lacquer and "invisible glitter" by Chilli nail wear.  LOL.  My nails were severely chipped and some of my nails are splitting or in danger of something similar, so I removed all traces of polish and trimmed my nails again.  They are now nubs. :)  I like my nails short, so I don't care.

My goal is to use as many untried polish as possible.  So I used my Cult Nails Afterglow last night.

Gigi and nails

Gigi was sick on Sunday night and I had to do emergency laundry... while I was doing laundry, I also cleaned her other blankies etc.  I think they smelled nice or something, she went to her crate all by herself.  She is so cute.  And last night when I got home, I saw that her nose has a scrape on it.  Sigh.  Don't know how she got it.  The last time she scraped her nose was probably when she was at the vet when she was sick in 2011.  But it's only a scraped nose, it will heal and and was fine.

Got a few packages today.  Yay.  They are gorgeous and I can't wait to use them.  I just removed NYEE and I had to use the finger cots method and I already have cuts on my hands, so my hands were in big pain when I had the cots on... so I should give my hands a little break.

Agility

Today is agility day for Gigi and I.  We were on holiday for the past 2 weeks, so it's exciting for us.  Gigi loves agility.  Who would have known Gigi loves agility so much. :D  I love this girl.  We ran a total of 3 times and it was taped with my phone.  She did very good.  And today is also the first time she jumped at 4 inches (vs 8 inches).  She is 9 years old now, it's time for her to take it easy.  We are blessed with her long legs and that she has no back issue.

Nevermore and other things

Hello everyone.  Not much going on.  I did my nails the other day and didn't feel like I love it, so I removed it.  ha.  And I am spending lovely time watching SMAP's concert.  Yay.  Just trying to relax and enjoy my holiday.  And also contemplating my goals for 2013.  Not so much resolution, but my "target".  More on that in another post (or not).

Another mental rest day.  I think I am a high maintenance person.  I need my freedom and space and I suck in general.  But at the same time I am trying to maintain my believe in faith, hope, love, joy, freedom perspective.  hmm...  Anyway...

Annoyed

I ordered a Harry Potter flash drive from an etsy seller on 12/12/12 and only received it today-12/26/12. So it took 2 weeks and on top of that. He charged 5 bucks foe shipping and my flash drive came in a regular envelope with no extra padding for the flash drive and the postage is 65 cents.  I haven't check to see if the flash drive is working ok. I just felt if I paid $5, I expect better shipping.

Space Beetle again

Today I revisited one of my favorite--Darling Diva Polish Space Beetle.  It's holographic and she said it's also duochrome.  There is very obvious holo, but I don't see much duochrome... but none the less it's a very pretty color.

Christmas with Santa

This was Gigi's first Christmas picture with Santa.  She just came home shortly.  She came home on 12/14/03 and she just turned 2 months.  So these pics are probably 2.5 months the most.  She was not afraid of Santa, but was intrigued by the beard.  It was so cute.

Blue Eyed Soul

I am sharing an "untried" with you today.  It's Wet n Wild (WnW) Blue Eyed Soul.  It is from the Fergie collection.  The color is amazing and application is quite good except for the brush is SUPER BIG.  It's flat and wide and can cover more than half my nail in 1 swipe and it's too big for my pinkie.

NOTD

It's one of my "franken".  It looks green... with holo.  It's basically China Glaze's Unpredictable (Bohemian collection.  I love this collection) with holo in it (literally).   But I sheered it out a bit much, I think?! I can't see the duochrome much like I wanted to initially.  I can see some holo.  So it's kind of a fail frank.  LOL.  It's nice, just not what I envisioned.  Maybe I can tweak it some more in the future... but I wanted to wear it at least once.

Agility today!  It's fun.  Lots of sniffing from Gigi.  Tsk tsk.  And lots of front crosses.  I was doing pretty good towards the end.  LOL.  We had so much fun.  I have also decided to start helping my little not-so-young-anymore girl on her joints and bone that she should start jumping lower... that means 4 inches.

Port-Folio

I did my nails last night.  Color Club Port-Folio.  I haven't been able to see much shift in this polish and there is no sun outside, so that kind of suck.  I added a thin coat of my holo.  I like the holo I have, it's not a crazy holo top coat that sometimes can obscure the true color of your base color (though the rainbow is pretty to look at), but I think this one actually let the base color show through.  And I want to call it "Rainbow Water".  I still don't think I am a good franken-person.

This is a bronze holographic nail polish from Piper Polish.  I used 3 coats.  As you can see the dachshund decal is back.  The mustache is back too.  The lighting is kinda back, so you can not see the holo really well.  I will try to take more pics later. :)

Urban Craft Uprising

Me and my friends attended this year's craft show.  It was fun.  I wasn't having too much high hope.  I don't know a lot of the vendor.  But why not just go and take a peek.  It was crowded.  The first vendor we got attracted to is Afternoon to Remember.  It is a place that sells tea and some edibles.  They have samples of some of their teas and goodies.  This is one of the 2 vendors that I have actually bought from.  I tried 2 of their teas and I like both (smells and tastes sooooooooooooo amazing), so I bought some.  I think those are 1 oz bags.  And they are $5 each or 5 for $20, so I bought 5.  I bought Creme Brule Chocolate Chai.  I normally is not big on chai, but this one is amazing.  and I also got White Raspberry Champagne.  I love them.  I also got a embroidery pack of snarky greeting cards.  Those are the only things I bought, but I collected a bunch of business cards as well.  I like collecting their cool cards and seeing how each vendor set up their booth.  I also took some pics...

[Be warn, this post is picture heavy and turns into a post that has nothing to do with nail polish.  But I have indicated in my "About" page that this is not a polish blog anyway.  It is is a "whatever-I-like" blog. :D ]

The beauty of special top coat is that it makes your ordinary nail polish more awesome.  Or when you are lazy, it gives your existing manicure a lift.  The many uses of a top coat. ;)  Of course, with some of them, you can actually wear them alone.

I doubt that I will post daily... but that does not mean that I am not thankful.  It is a big part of my life.  And it's a daily thing.

Little things...

I am still feeling like shhhhhit.  Partly due to the passing of Chilli and partly due to other things, which I am not sure if I can pin point or feel like sharing.  Can't really smile either.  But I know I can CHOOSE to be happy.  So I am slowly turning myself to that direction.  I also know little things can make me happy.  So I am going to that direction as well.  Must remember there are still FAITH, HOPE, LOVE and JOY in this world.  Just have to be intentional about it.

Or you can call them coffee sleeves?  Whatever you want to call them, you probably have used one when you order coffee from your favorite coffee place?  Usually you can grab a free paper one there, but if you buy coffee everyday, why not get a reusable one that is also cute?  Sure, you can reuse the paper one (good for you!), but if you can also go for cute... why not?  I have bought some previously from different places on Etsy and they are great... but I found a new place the other day and decided to order a few and try them out.

Chilli, my mom's 16 year old Shih Tzu went over to the rainbow bridge today.  She has a full and wonderful 16 years.  Being loved and spoiled by everyone of us.  It's never easy... but we will meet again.

My experience of removing dark polish

It's safe to say that I am not as novice as I was with applying nail polish.  My favorite nail polish "finishes" are holographic, duo/multi-chrome and glitter.  And my favorite colors to wear are blue, green and neutral.  But then, of course they all depends on the actual polish, my mood etc. :)

Joppa Minerals

This company I have ordered with many times.  It used to have HORRIBLE service.  But it was much improved.  And a few years ago when my hands (see?  I have hand issue for many years) were in very bad shape (itching and in so much pain) and Joppa's hand balm actually sooth my hands, and I have to buy at least a tin every year.  So I placed an order for a 2oz tin on 10/5 and I finally received it on 10/20, but I got a 1oz tin instead.  So I wrote to them on the 20th about it.  And I didn't hear anything from them... so I wrote to them on 11/1 to follow up.  And on the same day, Karey finally wrote back and say that she will have shipping to ship it to me again.  On 11/16 I wrote to them again because I did not receive anything from them.  On 11/17, Karey wrote and said she would personally ship it out on the following Monday and finally I got it on 11/24/12.  I thanked Karey.  But they have some serious communication issues in their company.  Took more than a month to have the problem resolved.  I may buy from them again, only because their balm worked for me, but their customer service is not very good.

Polish List

OMG.  I have more than 200 bottles of nail polishes.  And that does not include the ones I want to sell.  I have missed a few bottle from this list as well.  But still.  Over 200?!  That's 5 shoe boxes.

I am always on the look out for effective and good and affordable hand cream/lotion/salve.  Saw on tv today Working Hands. I have seen this in the supermarket before and didn't pay much attention. But today I actually look it up.

It is Friday!

I have been itching to paint my nails and so I did last night.  I washed my hands thoroughly and then I applied my glue base coat.  Then I painted 2 coats of China Glaze Deviantly Daring and a coat and a bit more of Lynnderella Connect The Dots.  Topped with my glitter top coats.  It was great.  The color and the combo is perfect.  I love it!

Gigi comprehensive check up

Gigi is at the vet today for her comprehensive exam.  She will be staying the whole day.  She has history of having allergic reaction from vaccination, that's why she has to stay longer than other pups.  The house is too quiet without my girl. :(  I need her as much if not more than she need me.  I am obsessed with her. ;)  Good news is that she is 8.8 lbs. :D

I got this color from my recent shopping spree.  It is such a pretty duochrome color in the bottle.  Purple, green and did I also see some blue?  But it is a pretty color.  It seems to be a bit sheer, though I don't have much issue applying.  There maybe some brush stroke issue, but I don't care too much.  I used 3 coats.  I also added a thin layer of Fairy Dust.  I love it.

Yes, I am writing about this topic again.  You know I use it in almost all my manicure.  It is a combination of my love for dachshunds, my love for stickers and my love for nail art!  So perfect (for me).

Nail polish swatches

My hands are suffering big time right now, due to the weather.  It's nothing new, but it doesn't make it any more easier.  So I have to ease up nail polish. I had an itchy fit on my middle finger.  A sudden super intense itch, and then it got really stiff and swollen.  Anyway, I don't want to irritate it any more.  And I am not gonna remove my existing polish for now.

Today I am sharing a lovely purple holographic.  The color is gorgeous; the holo is stunning.  And I don't need special base coat to make it work. Application is easy.  I just love it.

I noticed I didn't have a proper post for my girlie for her 9th birthday!!!  9th!!!  How time flies.  She was a tiny itty bitty puppy that look NOTHING like a dachshund (ok, maybe a little if you know what you are looking for).  And now 9 years later, our bonds are ever stronger and she is amazing and smart and lovely as ever. :D

Our agility run on Saturday.  You will noticed Gigi barks during her run.  Those are the spots that she was not happy.  I can tell each and every time what makes Miss Thing annoyed. :P

I have never pin down what I do with my packaging.  Sometimes I do this, sometimes I do that. I have wanted to use a "topper" thingy on my packaging for awhile, so I gave it a try since I got 2 new orders over this weekend.  Yay.

Went to hang out with my family and we had a great dinner and I even get to paint my mom's nails.  She is always afraid of how hard it's to removed and that her nails do not have great shape and her hands are dry etc etc etc.  But I brought some of my supplies and convinced her. ;)

Nail mail

I got a new polish today!  I'm The Boogie Man from Dollish Polish, which is her Halloween item.  I only bought this one as the other ones did not appeal to me as much and I already have too many polish. ><  I ordered it on 9/29 and received it on 10/9.  She has new bottles!  With her brand printed on the bottle.  I haven't try it on yet, but this color is right up my ally and it's gorgeous.  :)  And this is a color I can wear any time.

I have posted some earlier today, but here is a pic of all of them.  I bought Lava from Sally Hansen.  I couldn't find it a week or so ago at 2 different Walgreen and I was giving it up, as I don't "need" that anyway, but when I was at Fred Meyer, I found the display, there are only 2 Lava left, so I grabbed it. :)  I also got 2 Essence:  grey-t to be here and I love bad boys. :)  They are quite nice.  And I also got my replace Secret Sauce.  Woot.

iOS 6, nail mail and twin-sy manicure

Happy Friday!  Yay.  I am very tired this morning. Last night I deliberately went to bed at 9, but my unthoughtful roommate texted me 20 minutes later asking me to do something that she could have done herself, all because she is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.  Anyway, I couldn't go back to sleep until 11.  So this reminds me the new features of iOS 6:  Do Not Disturb.  You bet I am going to use it more or even everyday.

Healing balm

The weather is getting colder and my skin is telling me that.  It's all started to act weird.  Mysterious "hives" and what-not, super itchy skin, flakes etc.  NOT NICE.

Unpredictable

I like to be unpredictable.  Who wants to be an open book to every and anyone?  Sometimes you want that, but I think it's fun to be a bit unexpected and unpredictable.

Polish Us Pink 20121001

So October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  This is a very important issue in the world.  Lots and lots of people have been affected by it.  And the "polish community" is doing something to show their support and I have decided to take part.  This is my first time and I am kind of excited. :)

I was going to look see what's available for Halloween nail polish... but I wasn't able to find much.  Probably because I didn't go to the "right" stores.  Which is ok, because that means I don't have to buy them.  HOWEVER, I found the Maybelline new polish.  Scrangie did a good job with her swatches as always.  I knew that 3 out of 4 looks similar to what I have from other brands already, but for some reason, I can't help myself to take them home.  Even the cashier said they are pretty.  LOL.

I am loving using glue as a base.  Though there are some times little bits that got left behind.  But that's my own fault.

So in this post, I talked about using glue as a base coat.  Come to think about it, when I was a kid, we like to put glue on our hands and peel them off... just for fun.  So this should be fun. :P  Another thing I like is when the glue turned clear, you know it's dry and ready for the next step.  That I like.

So I used Swaggar Like Us and Sugar Daddy yesterday.  Love both colors.  But I am already itching to do something else.  It was either decals or glitter.

Informative Sunday

Today is "Informative Sunday".  heehee...

2 manicure within an hour

Not what I had planned in mind.  But I decided to do some housework shortly after I did my nails.  Big mistake.  But I just can not sit there and do nothing.

Natural Nails

I removed my last manicure using the finger cot method.  I think I need medium for my thumb and small for the rest.  I used a small for my thumb and started to feel my thumb turning icy.  LOL.  While I had the cots on, I massage the cotton on the nails a bit to help it a bit, plus I don't have much to do.  Though with the cot, you can still go online or use your iPad or iPhone.

I know that I don't have much if any reader.  In a way, which is fine.  I blog for my pleasure.  I blog for me.  But I do admit that knowing people read it is also nice.  Anyway...

More glitter removal method!

So I am glad that I have found the finger cot glitter removal method.  Not sure if it's the best.  But it works for me and I am happy with it.

Today I found you can use Peel Off Base Coat... basically use glue as your base coat.  Read more here and here and here  and  this video too.

Worth The Risque + salt n peppa + Putting On The Ritzzz!

I read from some blog that Sally Hansen's Diamond Flash top coat is nice for holo, that it won't dim its "holoness" (haha), so I bought a bottle to give it a try.  I used it with this mani and it's quite nice.  You let your nail dry for 2 minutes and then apply the top coat.  It will be dried in 60 seconds.  And I think it's true for the drying part.  Though I'd like to test it some more in regards to not dulling any "holoness".  The top coat is thin and I don't have any issue with it at all.  I did, however, added another coat, because my glitter was not as smooth as I'd like.

Dachshund

Manipulative + Penny Talk (+ alternative glitter removal method)

Today's nail features Cult Nails Manipulative and Essie Penny Talk.  I was going to try Konad again, but again with negative success.  This time the stamp is being a retard, it won't pick up any polish or only a smidge of it.  So I am using my dotting tool instead.  I bought a pack of 5 from ebay... it came with different size head and is quite delightful.

Jawbreaker

I have debating what's my next manicure is and have decided to use Jawbreaker. :)  It's a nice color.  I got it during the pre-sale a month or 2 back.  I really like the jelly sandwich finish look on it.  My only disappointment is that I couldn't get more glitter on my nails.  My next step might to make it matte.  I think it's always fun to do your nail "as is" the first day, then each day just add something fun on it.

Rally 20120821

Rally was interesting.  Only 2 students tonight and we only practiced 3 things, but phew.  Diana demo with Gigi on everyone of them.  She is way sterner than I am, and you can see Gigi finally getting it and her tails wasn't wagging any more and her ears were down.  LOL.  Good for her to know we are serious.  And there are times she was looking my way, sending me "SOS" signals.  haha.  So cute and so much fun.  I really enjoy and treasure my time with my girlie. :D

Totoro Costume

I ordered Gigi's Halloween costume yesterday.  I wasn't going to, because she has a ton already.  Which reminds me that I should sell them or give them away!  So keep an eye on this blog, I may sell/giveaway her old (barely used) costume.  Anyway, I ordered this cute costume and am excited about it.

If you have noticed, I have been going crazy using watermark on my pictures.  My pictures are not the greatest, but I love them.  Because I took them.

Stamping-fail

No pictures, because it was not successful.  I haven't play with it for some time now and it didn't work for me at all.  First it won't stick on the stamp, or it won't transfer completely on my nails.  Boohoo.

We had hosted a few give away before, but the responds were "meh".  We have this pair of earrings we want to give away.  It's colored with nail polish.  We used Cult Nails Nevermore and NFU 51.   A lovely shifting color.  The tag is for size reference.  It's the size of a quarter.  The earrings style is lever back. :)

Doggie meet up and nail mail

Went to agility today.  It was fun.  I enjoyed it a lot, so did Gigi.  We end up running 3 runs.  Gigi did great!  :). She also met her god sister, Iree again in the pasture close by the barn before class. Iree is slightly taller than Gigi and wanted to play with Gigi. She was trying to be in her face, if you have seen any puppies trying to play, you will know what I mean. But Gigi did not like it, so she barks (or I should say made some warning sound) to tell her that she didn't like it. We are both happy that Gigi is being able to set her boundary and the little one will have to learn. I think if given time Iree could learn a lot from Gigi and they could be close friends. :-). It is just cute to see them interact.

Tourist and nails

Today we are tourist in Seattle.  Even though we have lived here for awhile, but there are many places we haven't been to.  And I am the Queen of getting-lost-in-anywhere, so I try not to be too brave, because one will never know where I will end up in. ;)

Yay for nail mail!  So my wallet hurt a little, but they are so pretty!!!!!!

My nails maybe planning on taking a break.

So since my  hands are getting better, I have been pushing my luck and going crazy with nail polish.  It was fun and something I like.  My hands have been slowly acting up here and there.  And I am trying to keep my hands happy by using my salve and keeping them moisturized.  But I think it's best to switch from putting and removing polish at least 3-4 times a week to 1-2 max.  I am truly thankful that my hands are doing great now.  It's hard to comprehend if you were not in that shoes.  Skin cracked.  Super itchy.  Washing hands is painful.  Wringing a towel is painful.  Opening a bottle is painful.  Making a fist is painful.  :(

That is one of the new Deborah Lippmann I bought yesterday.  I love multichrome or duochrome... they are great.  To my eyes, there is rose gold color and green and some regular gold too.  But rose gold is the most apparent.  Here I used 3 coats.  Application was easy and effortless.

It was rally Tuesday last night.  No course.  Just skill exercise.

+moving sideway.  I am sure there is an official name for that.  But it's left pivot, and only moving side way, no angle at all.  Gigi is doing better.  A little grumbly.  But she is doing so much better at not yelling at me.
+standing halt.  Heel, then stop standing.  Leash loop (not hold) on right wrist.  Treats in right hand.  Stop with left hand close to my body, so Gigi won't shoot out, and I immediately pivot and feed her.

I think that's all and I hope I can understand what I wrote when I practice.  LOL.

Hol-ee roller

We have been playing ball a lot lately.  A lot meaning 5 minutes +.  And I have to be diligent to stop before she gets bored.  It's tricky business. ;)

I am still rocking my "green nails" (sorry, I haven't come up with a name for this look.).  And I like it very much.  I did them on Thursday night (I think) and it's still looking great.  There is some tip wear, but not too bad.

There are many many positive emotions and everyone has their own preference and liking.  To me, THANKFULNESS/APPRECIATION/GRATITUDE gives me the most joy and tingling.  So I am resume doing thankful list and you should try it too.  There is nothing too big or small, just whatever gives you joy.  And everyone is unique.  And you don't have (you could if you want) to give a reason why you are thankful... be as elaborate or brief as you want.  You know why and God knows why and that's enough in my book and my blog. ;)

My top 10 nail polish

This is hard to decide.  I am basing the selection on:  "if I can only keep 10 polishes from my stash.  Which 10?"  Or "We gotta go NOW, just grab 10."  And of course this is all subject to change. ;)

Welcome to my new franken nail polish.  My very first franken!!!  I am not sure what I am going to call it, I thought about calling it "10+".  Because there are 10 plus polish mixed in there.  But... may be.  Base is a variety of holographic polish.  Then many glitters... mostly black and white and silver.  And topped with suspension base.

Yay, it's Saturday!

Saturday is agility day for Gigi. :D  We also meet Gigi's godsister!  Our trainer is also Gigi's godmother and she got a new baby, so that makes them godsister, right?  Anyway, they are sisters now. ;)

YLBB update

If you have visited out Etsy shop, you will see that we have pulled all the lip balms from our shop.  The hot weather is the reason.  We don't want to deal with melting lip balms or salves sitting in boiling mail box.  If you are desperate for our lip balms, send us a convo on Etsy and we will help you out.

We just updated the background of this blog.  I love it.  I really do not like it when blogs used bright or strong colors, it made reading very very difficult.

TGIF!  This week has been too long. ;P  Though yesterday I had fun going to pet store and purchased some more food for Gigi.  The fun part was I knew one of the girls who worked there and we talked and laughed and sometimes another employee joined in.  It was great.
