Gigi is tall

I always know my girl is taller than most dachshund.  Today proved it.  We went to PetsMart after agility class today to get some pee pads.  While waiting in line to pay there was a black and tan behind us and s/he is at least an inch shorter (visibly) than Gigi.  I have been asked many times whether Gigi is pure (or just asked what breed she is) or not due to her height.  I heard that taller doxies are not as "desirable" as the ones who fit into the AKC (or whatever) standard when it comes to "pure breed".  But I love my girlie, her tallness makes it ever a better quality for agility IMO.  And on top of being taller than the norm, she is skinny too.  Sigh, I wish I could be tall and skinny like Gigi does.  Did mention she eats like a cow?  ;)
